So our precious, precocious little boy is turning into quite the little mastermind of truth stretching and manipulating.
Here are a few recent examples:
One morning before we are all heading to work/gym/day care/school
Luke: Mommy don't go to work, stay home play.
Mommy: No, Mommy really needs to go to work today.
Luke: Mommy, tummy hurt.
Daddy: Is there anything that will make your tummy feel better?
Luke: Yes, Chocolate cake.
WHAT!!! Where did her learn that????? BTW - the tummy hurt ploy is starting to keep repeating itself and he usually uses it when he doesn't want to go to preschool. He doesn't appear to be in pain when he says tummy hurts but when it happens he usually follows it with a big toot, a poop or needs to eat more food. So I don't think he has any condition to be concerned with.
Another prime example:
One night before bed
Luke: Daddy don't want to go to bed, want to go to Nana's.
Daddy: No you need to go to bed.
Luke: No, want to go to Pop-Pop Mike's.
Mommy: No you need to go to bed.
Luke: I want to play, no sleep.
We try really hard not to smile and laugh and encourage this behaviour but the kid is just so darn cute when it happens....if this is the hard part of parenting then bring it on. At least it makes us laugh.
