Luke is so smart!!

SOOOO last night we were playing and reading with Luke and we were both amazed at the new phase he is going through. We are realizing now that the easy days are coming to an end we actually need to start teaching him and letting him learn on his own. Luckily he is very curious and interested in everything.
We really started noticing this last night. We were reading/playing with his book Monkey Tumbles. The great thing with this book is there a is disk that has a monkey on it and you read the little story on each page and you drop the disk from the top of the book and it "tumbles" down to the bottom of the page. At the bottom of the page is a little flap that needs to be lifted to remove the disk and you continue this activity until the end of the story.
Well Luke figured out how to remove the disk right from the beginning of the story though some of the flaps are a little more tricky to remove the disk but eventually he was able to remove the disk from each page. He also decided he wanted to "tumble" the monkey himself so he took the disk and kept trying to put it in the slot at the top of the page. This turned out to be a little more difficult but the crazy thing was he wanted to attempt himself. It was so awesome to see this recognition. We were both so proud of him.
Now we just need to remember to let him do this stuff himself or show him how and watch what he does. We can no longer just do it all for him...I think I'm now starting to have my own separation anxiety!!!
