The Many Adventures of Luke

So we have been keeping busy the last few days. After our great initial outing with Danielle we spent most of Friday out with our friends Andrea & Kristin. We went to a very loud restaurant where Luke was able to sleep through the noise (which is wonderful) and then we went and hung out at the park. We walked around the park many times and took time outs to enjoy the wonderful day and to watch all the other kids at the playground. Luke is very excited to be a grown up boy and play on the swings and slide.

On Saturday our auntie Erica and friend Jason returned from a long time at the South Pole (for real!!!). We are very excited they are staying with us and finally able to meet Luke. We all went to lunch at Barney's Beanery (one of our favorite spots) which is quite a loud location and once again Luke slept like a champ. Curtis and I had to endure our first public diaper change which was quick and easy. We are starting to work really well together on these diaper changes.

Not to toot our own horn but he is just glorious. Every day it seems something is growing on him from his eyelashes to his legs. His face is starting to really round out and get fuller too. It just is so amazing. His sleep pattern is starting to run us a little ragged but we are hanging in there. It's a little hard to follow the old adage to sleep. How would anything get done if that were true - he seems to sleep a lot for very short periods of time or really long times but you never really quite know when that will be.

oh man, I can totally relate. it's super hard to try and nap when the baby sleeps - esp. if you don't know whether he's down for the count or just teasing you!

I know it may seem worse to fall asleep only to be waken up 20 min. later -- but it truly is better to try and catch any z's you can, no matter how little. otherwise, the zombie state can definitely catch up with you!! :)
